The Great Recession, in tandem with a cultural shift in multiple writing genres through the rise of e-lit & self-publishing, that I won’t get into, remarkably changed a lot of “how” and “who” could be published. There are many things I wish I’d pushed my self to finish and publish during that time, and a few that should’ve stayed under wraps. Some projects are no longer available partially for that reason, and my hope to edit and recraft those pieces.

I owe much of my current path to that 2012-2013 service year. It affirmed many of the disparities I’d previously hesitated to write in-depth about, drove me to work in medicine post-service, and eventually pushed me to get an MFA in creative writing.
Cie has worked as a clinical research coordinator and assistant, respectively, on multiple clinical trials with a concentration in neurocognitive development and rehabilitation.
